The 1990s has been declared as the Visit Indonesia Decade as a continuation of the programs held in the preceding years, namely visit indonesia Year 1991 and Visit ASEAN Year 1992 which ran succesfully. In order to support the declaration, each year of the period is given certain theme yhay binds nation-scale activities within the year. The theme for the last year of the program is "The Year of Technology Implementation for Life Quality Improvement." To marks the year, a set of two stamps is issued depicting the remote-censoring satellite (Indrajaya) used in fishery and hydroponic plantation.
