WORLD CUP 2006 Special Stamps Issuance |
To mark the event of World Cup "Germany 2006", Directorate General of Post and Telecommunication issues World Cup 2006 stamp series on 6 May 2006. On the same day, PT Pod Indonesia, issues the First Day Cover (FDC) and stamp booklet.

Football: the world's game
Football is a beautiful game that is so easy to play and understand. Played by over 250 million men, women, boys, and girls around the world, it is a game for all. It can be played anywhere, any time. Quite simply, it is the world's most favourable sport on earth.
As the world foootball federation FIFA carries the duty to lead the football community in the development and protection of the game itself in all its glory forms.
FIFA was founded in Paris on 21 May 1904 by the delegates of seven European countries namely Belgium, Denmark, France, the Netherland, Spain, sweden, and Switzerland. in 1932 it moved its headquarters to Zurich, Switzerland and has been there ever since.
One of FIFA's missions to ensure that the good image of football is always maintained throughout the world. Special attention is paid to promoting the concept of Fair Play, with worldwide campaign aimed at education and ethical values, including the fight against racism and corruption attempt in football.
FIFA's, "My game is Fair Play" concept is described as follows;
1. Play fair
2. Ply to win but accept defeat with dignity
3. Observe the laws of the Game
4. Respect oponents, team-mates, referees, officials and spectators
5. Promote the interest of football
6. Honour those who detend football's good reputation
7. Reject corruption, drugs, racism, violence, gambling and other dangers to our sport
8. Help others to resist corrupting pressures
9. Denounce those who attempt to discredit our sport
10. Use football to make a better world.
