SOS Children's Village focuses on caring children who have been and potentially losing parental care. Founded in 1949, SOS Children's Villages is now established in 132 countries, including Indonesia. SOS Children 's Villages Indonesia implements a family-based child care. There are 4 principles of parenting that run, namely a mother, a family of brothers and sisters, house and village. Through the Children's Villages, we cultivate a sense of kinship and affection. thus, they can recover from past experience that often traumatic. Children are expected to grow in a comfortable family environment, and with adequate infrastructure support projected to become personally independent adult later.

SOS Children's Village Indonesia providesa a wide range of education and training for children to support a future success. To ensure the children met their basic rights, SOS Children's Villages runs kindergartens, child activity centers, schools and vocational training centers. SOS Children's Villages Indonesia respect, promote and defend the rights of children. We work closely with decision makers and the public to make policies that could improve the well-being of children around the world. We also encourage children to actively take part in decision-making processes that affect their lives and, if possible, to truly represent themselves.

Firstly, SOS Children's Village Indonesia was built in Jalan Binocular Star Lembang, Bandung. The second is located in Cibubur, namely the SOS Children 's Villages Jakarta  Karya Bhakti RIA Pembangunan, Now the SOS Children's Villlage stands in Semarang Indonesia, Tabanan Bali, and Flores. After the 2004 tsunami in Aceh, SOS Children's Villages Indonesia also stands in Meulaboh, Banda Aceh and Medan which each consists of 15 family houses with supporting facilities. The purpose of this establishment is to accommodate the children who lost relatives in the disaster.

Currently there are 1.100 children living in villages scattered at 8 SOS Children's Villages Indonesia. While going through a called Family Strengthening Program, there are more than 6.500 children treated in SOS Children's Villages remain living in their biological family.

Children cared by SOS Children's Villages Indonesia are in the age range of infant to 21 yaers old. For children who are in their teens, we have built a kind of Teens Pensions. In addition it also provided the building and facilities for both  boys and girls to develop skills of welding, carpentry, machinery, farm, agriculture, fishery, computers, sewing and cookery. Children attending secondary school to higher education are encouraged to foray into the field that is useful for the formation of their personality and skills. The goal is to prepare children to be able to live independently in the future.
