As part of an effort to preserve and save ORANG UTAN/Pongo pygmaeus - one of the disappearing wild animal in Indonesia- the Directorate General of Post and Telecommunications, in cooperation with the World Widlife  Fund, issues on 6 March 1989 a set of special stamp, Souvenir Sheet and First Day Cover "Fauna 1989" with the following data:

3. Quantity : 2.000.000 pieces for each stamp.

4. Paper : White unwatermarked

6. Printing process : Rotogravure in three colours bearing special marks in the form of emblem of Perum Pos dan Giro (Public Corporation of Posts and Giro) which are visible only under ultra-violet ray.

7. Size : 28.96 x 45.00 mm.

8. Perforation : 12.50 x 12.50 

9. Sheet composition : 50 stamps per sheet.

10. Designers         : WWF International
