CENTENARY OF SCOUT MOVEMENT

Scouting is a youth movement aimed at training physic and mental of its members as well as encouraging their involvement in various positive activities for community. Focusing on practical exercises in the field, this movement is widely open for both men and women.

This movement began with Scout camp attended by 20 boys at brownsea Island UK in 1907 led by Robert Baden Powell, a lieutenant general of Great Britain Army and William Alexander Smith, a founder of Boy's Brigade. Starting on 1st August, the camp was intended on practicing Scout training for boys with organizing methods recently known as patrol system. In such a system, the boys are forced to set up small groups and elect one of them as its group leaders. The camp accomplishment has driven Baden-Powell to eagerly promote his ideas through his book titled Scouting for Boys. Since then, Scouting has been spreading from England across the world.
