100 Years Anniversary of Archaelogical Institute

Dutch East Indie Archaelogical Institute was established in 1913. After independence, the Indonesian nation gave birth her first archaelogist, Drs. R.Soekmono and Dra. Satyawati in 1953. Soon Soekmono became the first Indonesia to lead the  Archaelogical Institute. Throughout its development up to the age of 100 years,  the  Archaelogical Institute has protected and restored the nation's cultural heritage which is internationally recognized.

Cave Painting Uhallie, Bone

Ancient cave paintings on the cave walls Uhaillie, Bone regency, South Sulawesi depict anoa and hand print. Anoa paintings drawn by scraping dye into the cave walls (paint), while the hand print is made by stretching fingers on the cave wall and then sprinkled with dye. The cave painting scattered around the world and is presumed as one of the early art of human civilization Cave paintings alleged have magical values and illustrated by hunter-gatherer societies around the world.

Relief of Ramayana Fragment of Prambanan Temple

Relief of Ramayanan fragment of Prambanan Temple, Yogyakarta dating from 856 BC by the inscription that mentions the inauguration of Siwagrha shrine for Deva Shiva called Siwagrha or Siwalaya identified with the Prambanan Temple. The relief is portrayed by naturalist that contains information about fashion, jewelry, architecture and fauna in the Ancient mataram Kingdom aristocratic life in 856 AD.

Relief Panels Scenes "Budha Attained Enlightenment" in Borobudur Temple

Borobudur relief panels depicting scenes of Sidhartha Gautama's enlightenment or "attain bodhi" in Buddhist philosophy. This relief is one Lalitawistara relief panels, which is the life story starting from the birth of Sidharta Gautama, reaching "bodhi", and gave teachings to the people depicted on the 120 panels on the walls and ledges up to the fifth level of Borobudur Temple.
